Sweet Petunia

She was more than they
made her out to be
Those around her were blind
to what I could plainly see

If they knew all the colors
that she painted
Their black and blue world
wouldn't seem so faded

She had pink cheeks and
the whole sky within her eyes
those little brown freckles
and a diamond in her smile

Sweet petunia, purple tulips
kissing me, oooh
rosy red love makin'
while we roll beneath the apple tree

The morning doves sing
their coos to pillow talk
banana pancakes on our plate
chasin' sunny days while dancing in the park

She had pink cheeks and
the whole sky within her eyes
those little brown freckles
and a diamond in her smile
